It Happened Again!

It happened again! I had another post yanked of a certain social media platform. It originally was approved, but somebody changed his/her/them/their/it’s mind. Judge for yourself here. Feel free to comment. Let me tell you how it works. I have a small following, about 1,400 subscribers, the majority of which are through social media. Like you, my posts don’t make it into the newsfeed of most followers – unless I pay the platform. In other words, I have to pay to have most followers even see my posts. I do this, not because I like to or think it’s right but because I feel my message should be shared. It’s one way I live out The Great Commission.

Social media scrutinizes each “ad” that I do. It is up to them to accept or reject according to their standards. These are vague enough, of course, that bias becomes evident. That’s no secret to you folks. It’s happened before; it’ll happen again. Perhaps it will get better, perhaps it won’t.

For the record, I’m not doing this to make money. I don’t have any third-party advertising or products to sell. I simply am sharing my life as I walk with Jesus in the hopes that you may be encouraged in yours. It’s as simple as that. My motto verse is this:

"For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ." 2 Corinthians 4:6

Call to Action

I’m asking you all to do something. If you enjoy my posts, please sign up directly on my website. On the right side at the top of the post (as you are reading this), there is a place to enter your email address. You will receive an email every time I make a new post. You may need to check your spam/junk folder in case it goes there.

I understand if you have hesitation to sign up for another email. Who needs more clutter? But that’s what social media has become. In fact, they determine what goes into your mailbox to begin with. Stuff you WANT doesn’t get there. With emails, YOU get to decide what comes in. You can always unsubscribe.

Others are calling for the same. For example, Live Action, a pro-life organization, has a “Stay Connected” program with the same message. Please, think about this. I don’t like emails any more than you do, but we need to prepare for a tomorrow that is even more hostile than today. Again, here is the link to my post on this topic that got blocked. It happened once; it’ll happen again.

Thank you for putting up with my solicitation. I really hope you sign up. If you already have, thank you for your patience as I continue to encourage others. We certainly are living in changing times.

Father, I pray that this message gets out and that people take action. Open our eyes, ears, and hearts to your calling, Lord. The season is changing. Your Day is near. Amen.
