My Body, My Choice.

It sounds like the Supreme Court of the United States will allow a new Texas law to go into effect. The law will prohibit providers from performing an abortion once a fetal heartbeat is detected. No exceptions are provided. Some people are very happy. Some, like President Biden and Vice-President Harris, are outraged. “My body, my choice” is the chant we’ll all be hearing for awhile.

I’m not going to lay out all the evidence that life begins at conception and reasons that terminating such a vulnerable, innocent life is a grave sin. If you can’t, or won’t, see that, then this verse explains YOUR reasoning:

In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
2 Corinthians 4:4

My Body, My Choice.

Indeed, we all are free to choose. God has given us that ability. However, he has also made it crystal clear about what actions will come with negative consequences. Furthermore, these consequences are well-defined. So, too, is our only hope to escape that certain day of judgment.

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23

Look, there would be no unwanted pregnancy if people honored biblical marriage, and, therefore, there would be no need for abortion. But you want “my body, my choice,” so you must kill a baby so that your lifestyle may not be hindered. Fine. There is a price that comes with your actions. Be prepared to pay it. In full.

As far as other sexual sin that falls under the “I was born this way” category, there is no excuse. Yes, you may feel you were born that way, but God demands that you be “born again.”

Change your ways, America.

And you? There will be a day of judgement for you, too. Choose wisely.
