Good Morning!
I wonder if Jesus is coming today. What do you think? Today might just be the day. From what I understand, the Rapture is the next event on the prophetic calendar. That’s when Jesus will come in the air to gather believers. There is to be no warning, nothing to tip us off. Some of the other signs are for the Tribulation and events after, such as the Millennium. Now, the order of these events certainly isn’t settled amongst biblical scholars. One thing everyone does agree upon is that Jesus is certain to return. That makes it imperative that we be ready.
Why? Because he told us to. Now, let’s make sure we have the proper attitude. There are three ways of looking at this. One, we can look forward to his return with excitement and welcoming anticipation. Or, we can be so pre-occupied with our lives that we don’t care. Worse still, we can be antagonistic towards him.
Generally, my attitude is one of excitement although there are days I don’t even think about it. For some reason, I am much more in tune with it than I have been in the past. I think that’s a good thing. I’m not sure what caused this change. I suppose it would make sense to give the Holy Spirit credit. After all, one of his primary responsibilities is to teach us:
John 16:13-15 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you. All that the Father has is mine; therefore I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you.
What do you think of these things? Does the Holy Spirit do these things? Is it possible that I am thinking more and more about Jesus’ return because the Holy Spirit is guiding me to truth? Of course, it is. Not only possible, but that is the reason. Please don’t think I am saying I have special revelation from God. Hardly. What I am saying is that for some reason, God is really focusing my attention on this.
This is pretty cool stuff. Jesus is coming back for us. He’s coming back for you. He’s coming back for me. Maybe even today.
Does this change the way you look at a Monday morning? I hope so.
Father, thank you for the Holy Spirit. And, thank you for your mercy. Amen.
