Good Morning!
I have to tell you a story, one that makes me smile. I think it will do the same for you. First, the setting. Those close to me, myself included, have been entering some new territory lately. We have been proclaiming the gospel and, in particular, have been getting very serious with prayer. Intentional, focused, and specific prayer. We’ve been seeing fruit, much fruit, to the glory of God. With that, we have also been seeing significant opposition. Because we study our bibles, we are able to put this into perspective and give credit where credit is due:
Ephesians 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
2 Corinthians 10:3-4 For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.
We’re praying for the destruction of strongholds. It stands to reason that we will experience resistance. It is in this that God is amazing in how he accomplishes his ends despite all that is going against it. For example, my story.
I was having a significant problem with a customer. A big problem. Ephesians 6:12 used the term “wrestle against.” This is exactly what was happening. Because I was actually losing ground, I send another guy to help me out. He spoke with the man for some time. They talked about life and God. This man said he had never had anyone explain the gospel to him before. Until now.
Isn’t that cool? Satan gets foiled, once again!
Genesis 50:20 As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.
Father, blessed be your holy name! Amen.
