I don’t know if anyone noticed it or not, but we are almost through the month of June! Where does the time go? I don’t know about you, but I’m not quite ready for May to be done – let alone June!
My daily bible plan took me once through Psalms and has started over again yesterday. My favorite, I think, is Psalm 1. Let’s start today off with that.
Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.
He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all he does, he prospers. The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away.
Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; for the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.
I am a blessed man, righteous and redeemed. Why do I know that? Because I am born again. How do I know this? Because something is radically different about me.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
Everyone knows a “born-again” when they see one. Non-believers can sniff one out from a mile away, and so can believers. We all know this to be true. The Lord is already separating the wheat from the chaff, the sheep from the goats. He is already harvesting.
Father, as Paul wrote in Philippians, as believers, our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. I may be alarmed by June passing so quickly, but it is really of no concern. Someday, all this will be as a mist and gone. Heaven is my home, the best home imaginable. Father, let every move of mine today reflect that. I want to be bold for you and proclaim your name each step of my way. Amen.
