“The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom,” Proverbs 4:7

A couple days ago I wrote about how all the colors of nature match and how all the sounds of nature are harmonious. There are no clashing colors or minor keys in nature. Everything seems to be very orderly and in balance.

I’ve also written in the past how all stars and planets are delicately balanced. A human couldn’t make such a complex replica “hang” in space the way the universe does. Let face it, we can’t comprehend the vastness of space or its emptiness. Yet everything is tugging and pulling at everthing else.

The micro is the same as the macro. The tiny is as incredibly vast and empty as we perceive the galaxy to be. We just can’t see it. No matter where you look – up, down, in or out – everything is in balance. Everything is in harmony.

God is the one who does this. More specifically, Jesus.

Colossians 1:15-20 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities – all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he migh be preiminent. For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.

The heathen have a good point in a fundamental criticism they have: If everything is so perfect, why is there so much suffering in the world? Why do people harm each other the way they do?

Do you know how to answer that?

Perhaps it’s time once again to tackle some of the basic objections people have against Christianity or even the ideal of God himself. Stay tuned.

Father, now you started something! Grant us wisdom and curiosity so that we might seek knowledge. Amen.
