“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
“therefore I will hope in him.”
Lamentations 3:22-24

It’s a dark, rainy Monday morning. It’s not really the start to a day you bound out of bed for. It’s the kind of day people come trudging into work, complaining about the weather and the change of seasons. I get that. I also get that the weather doesn’t matter – in the big picture. And, the big picture is this: Jesus is coming soon. Maybe even today.

And, if he doesn’t come today, no matter because he has blessed us beyond all comprehension anyway. Just think about this passage. “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases.” Has God ever failed us in this? How about his mercies? My gosh, how can we begin to thank him for our salvation? Not only that, but day after day he pours out his mercy, kindness and goodness. Faithfulness? Wow, there is nothing we can count on like our God.

He’s enough, isn’t he?

What do you suppose God has in store for you if you ask him?

Father, let us get our attitudes right and look at our day with Jesus as our lens. You are making us like him; let us cooperate. Eagerly. Amen.
